Central banker: Russia’s inflation closer to 7.9% of 2021 forecast

MOSCOW, Oct 27 (PRIME) – Russia’s consumer price inflation is closer to the higher bracket of the central bank's 2021 forecast of 7.4–7.9%, Kirill Tremasov, head of the monetary and credit policies department, said on Wednesday.

"We see an elevated price rise both in food and nonfood goods. Our base forecast confirms inflation at 7.4–7.9% at the end of the year. We see that we are closer to the upper bracket of the forecast range," Tremasov said.

The official also said that the 2022 forecast remained at 4.0–4.5% and the inflation trend will likely change stably in January–June.
